Best Bulk IP Lookup Tools in 2026: 8 Compared

Compare bulk IP geolocation tools for processing multiple IPs at once — APIs, uploads, and batch processing.

Last updated: October 27, 2026

A comparison of eight bulk IP lookup tools in 2026: web tools, API batch endpoints and local databases, with their batch limits, free tiers, cheapest plans with bulk lookups, and VPN and proxy data. ip-api.com is the best free option for non-commercial use, ipgeolocation.io handles the largest batches, MaxMind and IP2Location databases suit very large volumes, and My IP Help produces finished reports of up to 100 IPs.

Say 400 failed logins hit your site overnight. Checked one at a time, the addresses tell you nothing useful before lunch. Run as one bulk IP lookup, they tell you in a minute that most came from two hosting networks in two countries, and that a third of them are known VPN exits.

We compared eight bulk IP lookup tools on the four things that decide which one fits: the largest batch each accepts, what the free tier allows, what the cheapest plan with bulk lookups costs, and whether the results include VPN and proxy flags. Prices and limits come from each vendor’s own pages, read in October 2026. My IP Help is our product; every competitor figure below is from that vendor’s public documentation, linked where it appears.

Quick picks:

  • Best free option (non-commercial use): ip-api.com, 100 IPs per batch request with proxy and hosting flags at no cost
  • Best for very large batches: ipgeolocation.io, up to 50,000 IPs in a single request
  • Best for millions of IPs or offline work: a MaxMind GeoIP2 or IP2Location database on your own server
  • Best security data through an API: IPinfo Core, with VPN, Tor, proxy and relay detection
  • Best finished report without code, up to 100 IPs: My IP Help

Three Ways to Look Up IPs in Bulk

Bulk IP lookup tools come in three kinds, and the kind you pick decides your cost more than the vendor does. A web tool takes a pasted or uploaded list and hands back a table or a file. An API batch endpoint takes a list in one request and answers with JSON your scripts can store.

A local database, such as MaxMind’s MMDB files or IP2Location’s BIN and CSV files, lives on your own server. Lookups then cost nothing per query and run as fast as your disk allows, but keeping the files current is your job.

Whatever you pick, geolocation is an estimate. Providers infer locations from registry records, routing data and measurements, so accuracy is high at country level and drops at city level. MaxMind publishes a country-by-country accuracy comparison that shows how much it varies by region.

Prices are the lowest plan that includes bulk lookups, from each vendor’s pricing page in October 2026, and the IPinfo, ipdata and ip-api.com prices are for yearly billing. On every paid batch API here, each address inside a batch counts as at least one lookup against your quota, so a 100-IP batch spends 100 lookups. ip-api.com’s free endpoint limits requests per minute instead, and a local database has no per-lookup cost at all.

How Bulk IP Lookup Tools Differ

Throughput, not batch size, is the real limit

A script can split any list into chunks, so the batch limit rarely matters on its own. What stops you is the plan’s monthly quota and rate limit. ip-api.com’s free batch endpoint allows 15 batch requests a minute per IP, roughly 1,500 addresses a minute, and blocks clients that keep going over it for an hour, according to its batch documentation.

A local database removes the ceiling. Once you enrich more addresses a month than your API quota covers, a downloaded MaxMind or IP2Location file is usually the cheaper route.

Free tiers come with conditions

Three free options allow commercial use with attribution: IPinfo Lite, MaxMind’s GeoLite and IP2Location LITE. MaxMind still describes GeoLite as not recommended for commercial use cases. ip-api.com’s free tier is fast but explicitly non-commercial and runs over plain HTTP. ipdata, ipgeolocation.io and ipstack keep bulk lookups behind a paid plan.

Security flags usually cost extra

For fraud reviews and login audits, the question is less “where” than “is this a VPN, a Tor exit or a data center”. Here is where each tool puts that data:

  • IPinfo includes VPN, Tor, proxy and relay detection from its Core plan
  • ipgeolocation.io charges extra credits per IP for its security add-on, and ipdata adds VPN detection on its Business plan
  • MaxMind sells anonymity data as a separate database
  • ip-api.com returns proxy and hosting flags even on its free endpoint
  • My IP Help includes VPN, Tor and bogon flags and a threat score in every report, within the report price

Output format decides how much work is left

APIs answer in JSON, and ip-api.com also offers XML and CSV. JSON drops straight into code; getting it into a spreadsheet takes a conversion step. My IP Help’s bulk IP lookup exports CSV, Excel, JSON, XML or PDF, adds a map and a summary of risky addresses, and keeps the report for 30 days.

The Tools One by One

My IP Help

The web tool takes up to 100 IPs per report and charges per report, with no subscription. The first 5 results are free to preview. The IP data API adds a batch endpoint on paid plans.

  • Web reports: $1.99 for up to 10 IPs, $3.99 for 30, $6.99 for 50, $9.99 for 100
  • API: 100 IPs per request on Pro ($29 a month, 100,000 lookups), 500 on Business ($79) and 1,000 on Enterprise ($199)

Its limits are real. Its cap of 100 IPs per report is tied for the smallest batch here, reports can’t be chained automatically the way API calls can, and per IP it is the most expensive option for large lists. Location comes from the free GeoLite and DB-IP Lite databases, so city accuracy is below MaxMind’s paid GeoIP2. What the report price pays for is the enrichment, the risk flags and the finished export. Best for: a list of up to 100 addresses that has to become a report today.

IPinfo

A batch endpoint takes up to 1,000 lookups per request, per IPinfo’s batch documentation. Free tokens use the Lite endpoint (country and ASN), which is also a free download under a Creative Commons licence. City, ASN details and privacy detection start on Core at $26 a month billed yearly ($31 monthly), per IPinfo’s pricing. Best for: security signals inside your own application.

MaxMind

GeoLite databases are free with an account and attribution. GeoIP2 databases cost from $38 a month for Country and $148 a month for City, per MaxMind’s database pricing, which also lists an update every weekday. Best for: very large volumes, or lookups that must stay on your own servers.

ip-api.com

The easiest free batch API to try: 100 IPs per request, no key, proxy and hosting flags included, but non-commercial use only and no HTTPS. The Pro plan, about €13 a month billed yearly, adds HTTPS, commercial use and no rate limit, per ip-api.com’s Pro page. Best for: testing, hobby projects and internal scripts that are not commercial.

ipdata

A bulk endpoint takes 100 IPs per request, and bulk lookups are for paid users only. The Startup plan is $50 a month billed yearly, with VPN detection and reputation scores on Business, per ipdata’s pricing. Best for: teams on the Business plan that want threat data alongside location.

ipgeolocation.io

The largest batch limit in this comparison, 50,000 IPs per request, from $19 a month. It charges only for valid public IPs, so bogons and private addresses in a log cost nothing, per ipgeolocation.io’s pricing. Best for: one large list at a time without writing a chunking loop.

IP2Location

Free IP2Location LITE databases with attribution, and a separate free IP2Proxy LITE database for proxy data. The IP2Location.io Bulk API takes 1,000 IPs per request from $49 a month, per IP2Location.io’s pricing, with VPN and Tor detection from the Plus plan. Best for: free offline databases you can run yourself.

ipstack

Bulk lookups and the security module are on the Professional+ plan only, at $99.99 a month, per ipstack’s pricing. The lower plans have neither. Best for: teams already on ipstack for single lookups.

Best Bulk IP Lookup Tool for Each Job

Choose My IP Help when:

  • You have up to 100 IPs to investigate today and want a finished report, not a script
  • You need VPN, Tor and threat flags next to location, priced per report

Choose an API batch endpoint (IPinfo, ipgeolocation.io, ipdata) when:

  • Lookups run on a schedule inside your application, pipeline or SIEM
  • You want the provider to keep the data current

Choose a local database (MaxMind, IP2Location) when:

  • Your monthly volume is beyond what an API quota covers at a sensible price
  • Addresses cannot leave your network, or lookups must work offline

For ownership and abuse contacts rather than location, registries publish registration data over RDAP, the JSON successor to WHOIS defined in RFC 9083; ARIN’s RDAP documentation shows how to query it. Our WHOIS lookup and ASN lookup cover single addresses.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best bulk IP lookup tool?

It depends on the job. For a free non-commercial API, ip-api.com; for one very large list, ipgeolocation.io (50,000 IPs per request); for millions of addresses or offline use, a MaxMind or IP2Location database; for security signals through an API, IPinfo Core; for a finished report of up to 100 IPs without code, My IP Help.

What is a bulk IP lookup?

It resolves many IP addresses at once into location, network and risk data. You paste or upload a list into a web tool, send it to an API’s batch endpoint, or run it against a downloaded database, and get one row of results per address.

How many IPs can I look up at once?

My IP Help’s web tool takes up to 100 IPs per report. ip-api.com and ipdata take 100 per API request, IPinfo and IP2Location’s Bulk API take 1,000, and ipgeolocation.io takes 50,000. A local MaxMind or IP2Location database has no limit beyond your hardware.

Is there a free bulk IP lookup?

Yes, with conditions. ip-api.com’s batch endpoint is free for non-commercial use. IPinfo Lite is free for country and ASN data, and MaxMind GeoLite and IP2Location LITE are free downloads that require attribution. My IP Help shows the first 5 results of any report free.

Does each IP in a batch count against my API quota?

On every paid batch API in this comparison, yes: each address counts as at least one lookup, so a 100-IP batch spends 100. ip-api.com’s free endpoint has no quota, only a per-minute limit. ipgeolocation.io skips invalid and private addresses, and its security add-on costs extra credits. A local database has no per-lookup cost.

Can a bulk lookup detect VPNs and proxies?

Most can, often on a higher plan. ip-api.com returns proxy and hosting flags for free, IPinfo includes VPN and Tor detection from Core, ipgeolocation.io and ipdata sell it as an add-on or higher tier, and MaxMind sells a separate database. My IP Help reports include VPN, Tor and bogon flags for every address.

How accurate is bulk IP geolocation?

The same as a single lookup: reliable at country level, rougher at city level, and weakest for mobile networks and VPNs. No provider can place an IP at a street address. Check any address that drives a decision with the IP lookup.

Can I look up a list of IPs in Excel or Google Sheets?

Not natively. Either run the list through a web tool that exports CSV or Excel and open the file, or call an API from a script or a Sheets add-on. My IP Help’s reports export to CSV and Excel directly.

Should I use an API or a downloaded database?

Use an API when lookups are occasional or run inside an application and you want the provider to keep the data fresh. Use a database for very large volumes, offline work, or when addresses cannot be sent to a third party. APIs answer in JSON; databases are queried by your own code.

Can I check a list of IPs against blacklists in bulk?

Bulk geolocation tools report risk flags and threat scores, not individual blacklist entries. To see which DNS blacklists list a given address, run the addresses your bulk report flags through the IP blacklist check.
